Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC Endorse Morgan Carroll's Campaign for Congress

Morgan Carroll, candidate for Colorado's 6th Congressional District, announced major endorsements from Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC. Both Planned Parenthood and NARAL are on the front lines of protecting a woman's right to make her own decisions when it comes to her healthcare.

"Senator Carroll has consistently been a Champion for Choice, someone Colorado women and their families can count on to stand up for Colorado on reproductive rights," said Karen Middleton, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado. "She received a 100% rating on our most recent NARAL Scorecard, as she has since she first got elected as a citizen-legislator. Morgan Carroll isn't someone you have to ask to be on your side on reproductive rights, she just is--because it's a priority to her. At a time when Congressional Republicans and Colorado Republicans are attacking a woman's right to choose, the people of CD-6 need Morgan Carroll in Congress to fight back.

"Colorado voters have said over and over again they are pro-choice. Seven in ten Americans identify as pro-choice," continued Middleton. "These are longstanding, mainstream Colorado values, and Congressman Coffman does not represent them or the people of CD-6. Morgan Carroll does, and we will do everything we can to help her win."

Last year Morgan Carroll won the Champions of Choice award from Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado and they commented that Morgan's "leadership has been vital to protecting Coloradans access to reproductive health services." PPVC continued that Morgan "understands that personal health care decisions should be made by women with those they trust, not politicians."

Senator Carroll has championed initiatives in the Colorado State Senate to ensure health insurance companies cannot use gender as a factor when determining health care costs, prevent mandatory invasive, medically unnecessary procedures for women seeking abortions, and make emergency contraception available to sexual assault survivors.

"I'm honored to receive the endorsement of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC and I look forward to continuing to advocate for equal access to affordable health care," said Senator Carroll. "Republicans in Congress think they can impose their views on Coloradans and stand in the way of their personal freedom. I believe every woman should be able to live the life they want and make their own decisions, especially when it comes to their wellbeing and healthcare."
